Who are you?…

Who are you?

Are you a warrior?

Are you a fighter?

Are you brave?

Are you a believer?

Are you courageous?

Are you scared?

Are you hopeful?

Are you passionate?

I believe I am all of the above…but some days, I don’t like to be a fighter. I don’t want to be fighting with my own body – I like to think I am a teacher. Teaching my body and my soul to give me strength to live my wonderful MS filled life. Strange isn’t it. I embrace my MS body, my MS life, because I guess, it is what it is.

I had to accept MS was a part of my life a few years ago. A very difficult and hard acceptance pill to swallow, but I had to do it. I had to do it for me mentally and physically. I did it for M, and for my family and friends.

Years ago, I would wake up in the morning, and the first thought that ran through my head was, “I have MS”. That first thought in the morning would unconsciously be with me throughout the day. That first thought would bring me down. That first thought would increase my MS fatigue. That first thought would make me cry. That first thought…

Now when I first wake in the morning I think, today is a new day. I may have yesterday’s aches and pains, but let’s do this!. I need to do things. I need to get on with things.

I am passionate. I am passionate to heal my soul, my mind and my body. I don’t know if I can totally heal the damage MS has done to my body, but you know something, I’m going to give it a bloody good try!.

Whatever you feel in your heart, you are. Whatever you are doing, you are doing amazingly. You are doing such a brilliant job, and you should all be so proud!. I don’t think we ever give ourselves the credit we deserve some days – maybe it sounds conceited, but pfft!. Let us be conceited, for one day, and congratulate ourselves! Here’s to us doing the best we can, surviving another day, always laughing, always smiling, and for always being there for each other!.

I wish you all a beautiful day today – keep being awesome, keep being you, and keep stopping to smell those wonderful roses. 🙂

Namaste. x
